From the Golden Temple to the Village: An Authentic Amritsar Experience

Arrive at Amritsar Railway Station/Airport. On arrival meet and greet with driver who will take you to the hotel. Check in hotel. In the evening visit to the Golden Temple to see the temple at night and see Palki ceremony, Overnight stay at Hotel.
After Breakfast, Start your city tour with the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib, is named after Hari (God) the temple of God, also known as the Golden Temple in Amritsar is the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion. It was built by the fifth Sikh guru, Guru Arjan, in the 16th Century. In 1604, Guru Arjan completed the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism. There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions. The Gurdwara is surrounded by a large lake or holy tank, known as the Sarovar, which consists of Amrit (holy water). Sri Harmandir Sahib is the heritage of the Sikh people gathered in their five hundred years old history.
Then visit Jallianwala Bagh which is a memorial to the countless numbers of innocent Indians which were massacred by General Dyer in 13 April 1919 which happened to be 'Baisakhi', one of Punjab's largest religious festivals. British General, Edward Dyer, ordered his soldiers to opened fire on an unarmed gathering of Hundreds men, women and children in this place.
Durgiana Temple, Durgiana Temple is a premier Hindu temple of Punjab situated in the city of Amritsar. This temple derives its name from the Goddess Durga and it is also called by the name of Lakshmi Narayan Temple.
In the afternoon visit village, this tour offers the opportunity to feel the authentic life style of Punjab by visiting the village and interact with the local villagers and get to know about their life style and culture on arrival at the village traditional welcome by the local family with garland.
TEA & PAKORAS (VEG. FLITERS):-As per culture of the Punjab whenever guests arrives at the home they offer them Masala tea with homemade pakoras and you can help them in preparation.
TURBAN TYING & HEENA:-The Turban is the part of the Sikh culture and tradition of the Punjab State. It’s a sign of Proud, Grace, Royalty and Uniqueness. The male guest can experience turban tying and female guest can experience Heena applications on their hands.
TRACTOR RIDE OR TANGA RIDE:-You can experience tractor ride through the street of the village towards the farms and get the experience of farmers’ activities in the field where they do their daily routine work.
LOCAL GAMES:-You can experience the rural games of Punjab that reminds you about your childhood memories like playing Kancha (Marbles), Gulidanda, Kite flying, Kabaddi etc.
LUNCH WITH LOCAL FAMILY:-After enjoying all these activities around the village we will come to the local host family, where you can have a very tasty and authentic Punjabi lunch that includes seasonal vegetables, Dal Makhani, Raita, Rice, Chapti and local sweet dish (kheer or Halwa).
